The rural Norfolk village of Somerton is excellent for walking, cycling (on Regional Route 30 of the National Cycle Network) fishing, sailing birdwatching and family holidays, with superb views of the coast. The beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches at Somerton and Winterton are just a short walk away through the Burnley Hall Estate.
Good nearby pubs and restaurants – The Lion (5 minutes walk) in Somerton, King’s Arms in Martham, The Waterside in Rollesbsy, Fisherman’s Return in Winterton and Nelson Head in Horsey.
The historical town of Gt. Yarmouth is 15 mins. by car, and the lively cathedral city of Norwich is 25 mins by car.

During the months of December and January a colony of seals head on to the beach at Horsey to give birth to their pups, providing a fantastic opportunity to get a close look at them.
